During a recent meeting with MPP Caroline Mulroney of Bradford, Ontario, Dr. Brian Taylor,
founder of Road to Recovery (RTR), shared the inspiring journey of RTR’s growth since its
inception in 2014. What started as a single location has now expanded to eight, serving as a
beacon of hope for individuals battling addiction in our community.
Dr. Taylor emphasized the profound impact addiction has on both individuals and the community
at large, affecting not only health but also financial stability and food security. With over 1000
patients treated monthly across eight locations, RTR has demonstrated its effectiveness in
providing crucial support and treatment to those in need.
However, despite its success, Dr. Taylor highlighted the challenges faced by RTR, including the
rising costs of supplies, infrastructure, taxes, and electronic medical record (EMR) fees. These
financial burdens pose significant obstacles to further expansion and hinder RTR’s ability to
reach even more individuals in need of assistance.
In response, MPP Caroline Mulroney expressed her support and gratitude for the opportunity to
discuss these important issues. She acknowledged the vital role RTR plays in our community
and pledged to advocate for further support and resources to aid in its continued growth and
success.
As we reflect on this productive meeting, we are reminded of the importance of collaboration
and support in addressing the complex challenges of addiction. Together, we can work towards
building a healthier and more resilient community for all.
